I don’t think most people understand what happens to the IT department when some large event happens in the world. Every time you want to stream an event to your computer you and your co-workers suck up all the resources available for actual work. The usual plan is to have less than fifty percent of the network being used instead of all of it for your fun. Nobody really gets that all that fast connection speed you enjoy is costing your company a ton of money and your entertainment is costing them a ton of money. As the network team watches all of the bandwidth go away and email and others trying to do real work end up with delays. So enjoy the soccer game today, but try to watch it on a TV instead, the IT department will thank you!
