The Fight in the Dog!

There is a famous quote by Mark Twain, “ It’s not the size of the Dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog.”  I have a new one “The size of the dog is directly proportional to the age of the owner”. Once over fifty dog owners start to shrink the size of the pets to accommodate care. The problem I see is that these little dogs have a disproportionate degree of difficulty when it comes to care. I don’t know if it is from over breeding or size of the organs but they don’t seem to be as hearty as bigger dogs. I also think that when we have more time on our hands we look for ways to fill it, and dog care can be time-consuming. I don’t hate little dogs I just don’t see the point, but I only have two more years before I turn fifty so maybe I should start looking at Chihuahua’s and  Corgie’s! They may be my future pets.
