Here’s some “Jumping the Shark”

shark-mouth-over-the-waves-vector-cartoon-illustration_Myei2C_uI don’t know if you have heard of the saying “jumping the shark”. This is from the TV show Happy Days. Toward the end of the shows run they had the Fonzy jump a shark while water skiing. This has come to be a saying when a show has run out of new ideas and start doing really goofy stuff.
My family uses this saying for a lot of things. For example I heard a commercial for a home builder who says they now offer a dog shower as an option. Have we run out of ideas for new homes that we now are looking to add crazy things? Since I am on crazy things to add to a house here are a few ideas I can think of.
1. How about a car wash in my garage. I could park the car and push a button and my car would get washed and dried. Of course I would want it to recycle the water and I want the multicolored soap. Maybe this could also be used as the dog wash, kids as well.
2. In house closet dry cleaning. I know they just spray some Woolite on my jacket and put it in a plastic bag. Couldn’t that just happen in my closet. It would be cool to be able to just hang my clothes on a rotating rack that way I could just push a button and get a new selection to wear each day.
I can think of a few others but then I would have to figure out a term that means worse than jumping a shark, and that is too much thinking for a Monday.

Another Former Fat Guy Lament!

cartoon-vector-man-dragging-a-pizza-no-to-junk-food-concept_zJdqKkd_Ever since I became a reformed fat guy (like an Alcoholic I am reformed not cured) I eat a lot of Lean Cuisines for lunch. I toss them in the microwave and then scan the bar code with my calorie counting app before throwing the box away. For some reason today I started reading the back of the box. It asked if I have any questions and supplied a few questions and answers I am sure everyone is asking. One said, how does Lean Cuisine pack so much flavor into so few calories? Oh yes, this is what I want to know. How about, why is there so little food I can eat for lunch that won’t return me to my previously over weight state? Or, who are you fooling by putting three squares of chicken in a box and calling it a meal? The other comment on the box was a statement that the government doesn’t allow hormones in chicken so you can eat with confidence. My question is, if it wasn’t illegal would you put them in? I don’t want you to think that I hate Lean Cuisine, I find they are some of the best of the microwavable meals. I just wish I could eat an entire pizza for lunch with no consequences and the difference between that and the 240 calories I did eat, makes the 1-800 number on the back of the box rather amusing to me.
