I don’t ever really do New years resolutions. I figure if I am going to lie to myself I can do that any time of the year. The thing that I do have to do every year is slowly cut back on the eating. From Thanksgiving on the bathroom scale has been a torturous source of truth. So come about mid-January I should be back to eating smaller portions and not buying anymore Eggnog. I really don’t see the point of trying to stop it on the first day of the year, there is still too many leftovers and candy from my stocking laying around. Why not just start to wind it down with finishing the candy off, letting the kids go back to school and then getting back into my routine of eating and exercise. Another benefit is that by then the gym will be back to normal and no one will be in the mood to bake cookies anymore. If I am really serious about not going back to “Fat Bob” I have to make this a real goal and not a two-week lie I tell myself every January first.
Resolutions and lies!
